Springs & Wire Forms

Manufacturing Custom Springs & Wire Forms for the Aerospace, Defense & Medical Industries Since 1957

Custom Compression Springs

Compression Springs are designed to become shorter when loaded. Their turns are not touching in the unloaded position, and they need no attachment points. Orlando Spring Corporation’s versatile equipment is capable of producing precision springs of different pitch and ground within 1º. End Types include:

  • Plain: Open or closed
  • Squared: most commonly designed with closed ends to provide uniform force distribution
  • Ground: provides flat planes and stability
  • Ground/Square: utilized for applications that require small load/rate tolerances and used for its durable and non-buckling characteristics

Custom Extension Springs

Extension springs are designed to become longer under load. Their turns are normally touching in the unloaded position, and they have a hook, eye or some other means of attachment at each end. Orlando Spring Corporation produces extension springs of any length, end type and degree of tension. We produce extension springs by offering:

  • Hook ends: machine, extended, over-center, swivel
  • Loop ends: full loops and double twisted

Custom Clock Springs

Orlando Spring Corporation custom manufactures various types of clock springs, also known as power springs, from flat-stock material for widths and thicknesses of up to 2” and 0.125”, respectively. These close-wound springs store rotational energy when turned about the center shaft. Common applications include:

  • Reels
  • Retractable safety devices
  • Toys
  • Mechanical motors
  • Kitchen timers

Torsion & Double Torsion Springs

Torsion Springs are utilized in products that require a resistance to or application of torque. Once a load is applied to the legs, torsion springs deflect and elongate resulting in an angular return force. Torsion springs are closely wound with various leg configurations, such as straight legs and multiple leg bends. The direction of the wind, clockwise or counter-clockwise, is determined by the application.

Metal Stamping & Fabrication

With a combination of hydraulic and mechanical presses, Orlando Spring specializes in custom precision metal stampings for low volume to long-run production quantities. After a review of the dimensional requirements, our in-house tool room capabilities allow Orlando Spring to create the form tools that make any customer’s design concept into reality. Our expert tool and quality standards along with expert tool makers ensure each tool will result in continuous repeatability. Our hydraulic presses are low-cost solutions with a variety of different tool sizes for notching and punching complex and intricate holes and shapes.

Precision Wire Forms – Custom

The cost-effective CNC wire forming and form tooling are capable of limitless configurations for wire parts. The flexibility of our in-house tool room allows us to create our own tools to the customer’s needs. Each production set-up is performed by Orlando Spring’s in-house tool room which uses multiple machines. Our expert tool makers ensure each formed tool will result in uniform thickness and dimensional integrity. Orlando Spring can create components from a wide variety of metals, including:

  • Pins
  • Clips
  • Rings (hex, half, formed, notched)
  • Complex wire forms

Precision Flat Stock Components

Orlando Spring produces flat stock components for numerous applications. The maximum part dimension are 2″ width by 17″ feed length.

Titanium Springs

Titanium material has a high strength-to-weight ratio and a high resistance to corrosion, the two primary reasons engineers consider this alloy when analyzing product requirements. Because of their strict focus on high-performance applications, the aerospace manufacturing community and the performance racing component sector are the two most prevalent industries for titanium springs.
