Capabilities Services

Coiling

There are many variables for the design of product. Capabilities include: conical, reduced end, barrel, clutch springs, cable springs and hour glass. Coiled springs can be made from round, rectangle and square wire,

Orlando Spring also has the capability to form aluminum tubing and rod as well as coil and form rod from 4140 and 6150 carbon steel. Our CNC machines can coil between the ranges from .006″ to .313″ diameter. In addition, the short order department can lathe parts up to .75″ diameter.

Coils can be constructed of any material listed in the Materials section below.

Secondary

Orlando Spring has a specialty secondary department that is able to manufacture precise wire forms of virtually and type. In the secondary department they complete extension springs, torsion springs, inside double torsion, double torsion, floating hooks, draw springs, rings, notched rings, ring segments and combination extension/compression springs.

Secondary forms flat stock parts including: clock springs, constant force springs, stampings, wave washers, belleville washers, curved washers, and flat washers. The maximum thickness for forming is .040″. In addition, Orlando Spring is able to perform small assembly as required for garter springs, tubing applications and wire form assemblies.

Engineering

In house expertise allows for a variety of services ranging from engineering support, troubleshooting and prototype work. As the industry encourages supplier involvement, Orlando Spring is able to give value and feedback for cost reduction to its customers.

Orlando Spring employs an engineering staff that ensures the processes adhere to the strict precision and performance standards of our customers.

Clients can work and consult with our engineers throughout the entire product development cycle. Our engineers are highly regarded not only for their development expertise, but also for their ability to customize and accommodate individual customer requests and requirements. With over 50 years of experience in the industry, the acquired engineering knowledge is an integral tool for Orlando Spring to satisfy the customer in ingenuity, quality and price.

Inspection

Our customers expect the highest standard of quality and service – and we deliver it. Before the job is run, a set up sample must be approved by our Quality Inspection Department. Prior to the setup being removed from the machine, we inspect another sample to insure the integrity of the run. Finally, before shipment, the finished product must undergo a last inspection – adhering to an applicable sampling plan – which verifies that all requirements have been met or exceeded. Due to our consistent history of superb quality we are Certified Suppliers for many of our customers in the Aviation, Space, and Defense industries.

Our inspection department is able to achieve precision loads and rates utilizing state of the art testers with capability up to 5,000 lbs., torsion tester up to 250 lbs., and optical comparators for measurement. Orlando Spring’s highly trained inspectors ensure precise accuracy and verification of blueprint compliance for every operation.

In-House Processing

In-house processes and services include precision grind, stress relieve & aging, tumbling/deburring, passivation, prototype engineering and design assistance.

Grind

The precision grind department achieves many types of ends including: open, closed, squared and ground, square under load and squareness down to .25 degrees.

Heat Treat

The heat treat department is able to stress relieve and age parts to multiple customer and government process specifications.

Tumble/Deburring

The deburring department is able to complete precision deburring with tumblers and wire brush, mini lathes and small grinders. This expertise includes inside and outside diameter chamfering. Orlando Spring utilizes an Air-Mite pneumatic air press for set solid operations. This process is critical to the extreme tolerance requirements required by the components into which the parts are installed.
